Working on a computer will make time fly faster than a jet fighter. You can start working in the morning and it will be noon before you know it. There are many programs for monitoring how much time you spend with certain applications. While they offer good statistics, these are just numbers and they will not help you see exactly where you spend more or less time. SnapLogger will not fill your screen with pie charts and graphs, but it will take a screenshot every few seconds. The software will play back all screenshots, like a movie, giving you a better idea on how you spend your time.

SnapLogger is supported by most Windows operating systems. It can be downloaded and installed fast and you will not have to meet high system requirements.

You can start recording, right after launching the software, by clicking a large button in the upper right corner of the interface. The screenshots can be viewed, one after another, just like a movie, with the program's own player. It can be launched on a separate window, by clicking a button, beneath the Start Recording option.

A series of options can be found, under separate tabs, on the lower half of the interface. You can use these to specify a time interval between screenshots, choose to capture the whole screen or just the active window or set the program to pause automatically if the computer idles for more than a given time interval. You can also protect the software with a password, enable an automatic cleanup task for old screenshots or delete them yourself by clicking a button, under the Cleanup tab.

Filters can be created under the last tab on the interface. These will force the program to record only when one or more applications are active or prevent it from recording, using the same rules. You may create any number of filters and select one of them from a drop menu, on the upper area of the interface. Besides recording, the software will also create reports regarding how much time you spend on individual programs and how long the computer is active.

Pros

SnapLogger will take snapshots of your screen or an active window, according to your settings. It will display the screenshots like a movie, using its built in player. The filters you can set up will give you full control on when the program should or should not record.

Cons

A schedule feature would have been a welcomed addition. SnapLogger's flexible recording capabilities will provide you with a clear picture on how you spend your time on a computer. Even novice users can understand its simple, yet effective options.
